Ms. Caballeros, 5th Grade
Miss Caballero was born as Martha Cecilia Caballero Robledo in Mexico City. Her parents are from Acambaro, Guanajuato, Mexico. Her father migrated to the States in 1983 and worked hard to bring his six children across the border. In 1987, Cecilia Caballero crossed and began a life in South Gate, CA. She attended Victoria Elementary, South Gate Junior High, and South Gate High in that city. As a senior she was actively involved in her community while keeping high academic marks. As a result she received a scholarship form Congresswoman Martha Escutia and was able to continue her education at University of Califorina, Los Angeles. After completing her freshman year at UCLA, she felt the need for a change and additional challenges, thus, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. She did not stop attending school and completed her B.A from UCLA with the Chancellor’s Honor Award. Soon after graduation her Marine Battalion was activated to serve under Operation Enduring Freedom where Corporal Caballero realized her education was not over. After completing her Presidential Orders, she enrolled in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University where she earned a Master Degree in Education with a Teaching Credential and Language Learner Authorization. She then began a five year career close to her family and community in Lynwood Unified School District. The vision of El Sol Academy brought her to Santa Ana and she is now a fifth grade educator.
