Middle School VEX IQ Robotics
El Sol Academy offers VEX IQ Robotics as a middle school elective where students design, build, and program robots while developing skills in engineering, coding, and teamwork. Students work collaboratively to solve challenges using the engineering design process, learning how to test ideas, improve their designs, and think critically.
Through hands-on robotics experiences and competitions, students strengthen their problem-solving, communication, and perseverance skills while exploring real-world applications of STEM.
Project Scientists
El Sol Academy partners with Project Scientist, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring confidence and interest in STEM through hands-on learning experiences. At El Sol, the program serves students in grades 2–5 through three cohorts during the year: Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Students participate in engaging STEM activities that build curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills while exploring real-world science and engineering concepts. Project Scientist focuses on supporting girls in STEM; however, students of all gender identities are welcome to participate.
Through this partnership, El Sol students have meaningful opportunities to explore STEM and begin to see themselves as future scientists, engineers, and innovators.

Math Club
The Math Club provides students with the opportunity to team with other students to develop critical thinking and mathematical reasoning skills. Students attend local math competitions hosted by nearby schools and districts. Participation in Math Field Days support students in joining together in promoting excellence in mathematics, collaboration, achieving goals, and school spirit.
