We are closely monitoring the current health crisis and have been working to provide community resources for the students and families of El Sol Academy. We continue to put the health and safety of our students and community first. Information will be updated as it is provided.

UPDATES

Please note this information is subject to change based on the fluid nature of COVID-19 and continuous evolving guidelines for schools, students and staff. 

March 5th: We appreciate your support during the first days of school Hybrid learning. We ask that you use the daily health check chart to monitor the students symptoms. From now on, we will randomly ask parents to show us the health app. If students are sick, please do NOT send your child sick to the school. Thank you for the support! View Health Check

February 23rd: We are excited to announce that we will be reopening all grades at El Sol the week of March 15th!

February 11th: Parent Survey was sent out to select interest in in-person learning or continue distance learning.

February 10th: At this time, guidelines allow schools like El Sol to reopen grades TK – 5th, six days following a county wide adjusted COVID case rate of 25 or less. The case rate is adjusted every Tuesday. Orange County’s current adjusted case rate is 29.7, which is lower than the 39 from last week. If cases continue to decline, it is expected that Orange County could reach an adjusted case rate of 25 by next Tuesday. Read More

December 10, 2020 Due to an alarming surge of COVID-19 cases throughout the state, Governor Gavin Newsom and public health officials announced last Thursday that regions of California where hospitals are in danger of exceeding capacity will be subject to a new stay-at-home order. This order took effect Saturday and was triggered Sunday, when the Southern California region reached less than 15 percent availability in our intensive care units (ICUs). Read More

October 23, 2020 Last week we made the announcement that we were planning to open with hybrid learning on November 2nd. Thank you for completing the surveys and working with us to prepare for that date. However, today we made the decision to extend the reopening date until January 6, 2021. Please see October 23 Newsletterfor more details.

October 14, 2020 We are ready to re-open! El Sol Science and Arts Academy recognizes as top priority the health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and families.
